At the end of each session, Little Stars will get to show off their new Broadway moves in an Open House for parents on the last day of class.

WHAT TO EXPECT
--Weeks 1-2 (Jan 10 to Jan 17): Setting the Stage—
Families who are new to Stages are invited to join us for a FREE TRIAL the week of January 6-11, 2026.
Click this link to book a free class to see if it's the right fit for you child!
The first two weeks of the semester will focus on learning and perfecting the foundational musical theater skills every Broadway Star needs when performing on stage. Classes will participate in acting games and begin to learn music and choreography for their auditions. Students will be introduced to Uta Hagen’s Acting Technique, which we will utilize as a framework for character development throughout our rehearsal process. These first two weeks of the semester also allow our teachers to get to know students and start to determine which scenes, songs, and roles will be the best fit for each child.
--Weeks 3-4 (Jan 24 to Jan 31): I Hope I Get It!--
During weeks 3-4 of the semester, students will participate in a personalized audition process. Auditions at Stages are designed to be a low stress, fun experience where Broadway Stars get to show off what they’ve been learning the first few weeks of the semester and tell us what they are most excited to do in the show. Middle School Musical students get the chance to do a comprehensive audition process with singing, acting, and dancing portions.
Casting will be done more traditionally with 1-2 actors playing each role. EVERY CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A ROLE OR SPECIAL PART IN THE SHOW. We will work together with children to make sure they have a speaking line, solo, duet, etc. that they are excited to perform!
--Weeks 5-12 (Feb 7 - Mar 28): Putting It Together--
During Weeks 5-12, children will begin putting together their show! Each week, classes will work on their assigned scenes and songs. During these classes, we will focus on learning and rehearsing musical numbers and choreography, blocking acting scenes, and introducing various theatrical elements that will be used in our show such as sets, props, and costumes.
Don’t worry, it’s not all work. Classes will also have the opportunity to play theater games designed to introduce new performance skills and brush up on concepts we’ve learned in previous classes.
--Weeks 13-15 (April 4 - April 18): Prepping for Opening Night--
During Weeks 13-15, classes will begin running doing “Run Thrus” where they perform all of their scenes and songs from start to finish. We’ll also start adding in transitions so performers know when and how to enter/exit the stage, when to get microphones, make a costume change, or pick up a prop from the prop table. These classes are VERY important and we ask that you do your best to ensure your child is at every class unless they are ill.
TECH WEEK: Monday April 20 - Thursday April 23
The week of the show, we will be having rehearsal after school April 20 - April 23 where ALL of the classes are brought together to run the show in the space. These rehearsals will be MANDATORY.

Each class features music and activities that are inspired by a different Broadway Musical and designed to support fine and gross motor skills, imagination, rhythm, and body awareness while also introducing elements of formal dance classes such as a warm-up routine, “across the floor," and learning choreography in a fun, developmentally appropriate way.
At the end of each session, Little Stars will get to show off their new Broadway moves in an Open House on the last day of class.

Broadway Stars was created by a professional performer turned child development specialist with the primary goal of helping children develop the foundational skills and technique every musical theater performer needs while giving them the opportunity to find their voice, build confidence, and do what every budding Broadway Star loves most: PERFORM!
Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience in the classroom and on professional stages and feature a customized curriculum designed to challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer while helping prepare them to participate in our mainstage musical this Spring.
Each week, your child will participate in acting games, choreography rehearsal, and vocal coachings as they learn scenes and songs from Broadway Musicals that they will perform onstage for family and friends at the end of the semester.
Whether your child is destined for the lights of Broadway or simply loves to perform with their friends, this class will spark their creativity and give them the confidence to shine both onstage and off!
*While participation in our Fall Semester is not required to enroll in our Spring Production classes, it is strongly encouraged.

Does your child love to perform? Are they ready to take their training to the next level? Then our Broadway Workshop is for you!
Throughout the semester, young performers will focus on scene study, song interpretation, and audition technique as they rehearse scenes and songs from Broadway shows selected specifically for them by our team of professional teaching artists. This class is designed to showcase the strengths of each young performer in a fun supportive environment while giving them the tools they'll need to feel confident in pre-professional or professional settings.
Students in our Broadway Workshop will get to work on their own solo numbers and monologues in addition to duets, small group, and group numbers designed to help them "build their book" and introduce them to new, exciting repertoire.
*The semester will culminate in a Musical Theater Cabaret that will take place the week of December 1 or December 15. Once we know how many students are participating, we will be able to finalize the location, day, and time and share that information with families.
WORKSHOP EXPECTATIONS:
All children are welcome to enroll whether they have been have been performing for years or this will be their first venture into the spotlight.
This workshop will resemble professional performing arts classes in that young performers will be expected to learn and rehearse material at home in preparation for class. We will teach them how to do this and provide the necessary materials but they must be committed to practicing at home.
CAN'T DECIDE between our Musical Theater Workshop and Fall Play: PUFFS? Enroll for both and save $250 on tuition for this class.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Weeks 1-2 (Sep 6 - Sep 13): I Hope I Get It!
During the first two weeks of the semester, students will participate in a personalized audition process. Auditions at Stages are designed to be a low stress, fun experience where Broadway Stars get to show off what they’ve been learning the first few weeks of the semester and tell us what they are most excited to do in the show. Middle School Musical students get the chance to do a comprehensive audition process complete with cold reads and callbacks.
Casting will be done more traditionally with 1-2 actors playing each role. EVERY CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A ROLE OR SPECIAL PART IN THE SHOW. We will work together with children to make sure they have a role. that they are excited to perform!
Weeks 3-10 (Sep 20 - Nov 8): Putting It Together--
During Weeks 3-10, the cast will participate in weekly rehearsals. During these classes, we will focus on character development, blocking the show, and introducing various theatrical elements that will be used such as sets, props, special effects, and costumes.
Weeks 11-12 (Nov 15 - Nov 22): Prepping for Opening Night
During Weeks 11-12, the cast will begin running doing “Run Thrus” where they perform the show from start to finish. We’ll also start adding in transitions so performers know when and how to enter/exit the stage, when to get microphones, make a costume change, or pick up a prop from the prop table. These classes are VERY important and we ask that you do your best to ensure your child is at every class unless they are ill.
*There will be no class on November 29*
TECH WEEK: Saturday, December 6 & Monday December 8 - Thursday December 11
The week of the show, we will be having rehearsal everyday after school at the theater. These rehearsals will be MANDATORY.

Each Semester ends with an Open House where Little Stars get a chance to show off what they've been learning! Whether your child is ready for the spotlight or simply loves musicals, this class is for them!
